About Dr. Gail Donley Urita
Dr. Gail Donley-Urita (Contreras), MD is an Internal Medicine physician serving the West Houston/Katy area. She also has a board certification in Hospice and Palliative Medicine and is the only physician in the West Houston area who actively incorporates Palliative Care into her outpatient practice. Dr. Donley-Urita earned her MD degree in1998 at Mayo Medical School in Rochester, MN and also completed her residency in Internal Medicine in 2001 at Mayo Clinic Rochester. She then practiced as a Hospitalist in IL for 8 years prior to relocating to Katy, TX with her family in 2010. With her 20 years of medical experience she has come to believe that most medical conditions are affected by physical, psychological, and spiritual issues. Therefore the focus of her practice is to customize care to the individual patient, not only the disease. She utilizes a team approach for their care, utilizing a counselor and dietitian where indicated.
In addition, she has a team of nurse practitioners to assist in providing patients with continuity of care when moving from one type of care to another based on their needs. This provides patients with a familiar face for their care and avoids unnecessary testing as much as possible. Our team will come to you to provide compassionate, quality care. In her free time, Dr. Donley-Urita enjoys traveling with her husband, attending sporting events, especially baseball and basketball, and spending time with her family. |
